Family Links Program (Kinship Care)

This program provides assessments, support, and training to extended family members or significant others who care for children and youth who have been apprehended from the parental home.

Am I eligible?
This program is intended for families where the child or children has been apprehended by the regional Child and Family Services Authority (CFSA). This program works directly with the extended family of the apprehended child or children in order to provide a stable home to the children.

How much will it cost me?
This program is funded by the Region 6 Child and Family Services Authority (CFSA). The Home Assessment is completed at no cost to the potential kinship caregiver. The client is responsible for the required Criminal Record Check, which costs $30.00.

Program Outcomes

Additional Information
All children and youth received into the Family Links Program are direct referrals from the Region 6 Child and Family Services Authority Placement Intake Unit. Children and youth have in-care status and have the ability to function within a family setting in a community environment.
