Foster Care Program
This program recruits, trains, and provides support services to foster parents who are selected to care for children and youth, up to age 18, who are in need of protection and nurturing.
Am I eligible?
Anyone interested in fostering can contact the Program. Information sessions are provided by the program once per month in the evenings. If the interested person is unable to attend, a Placement Coordinator can attend the home of the potential foster parent. All persons residing in the home over the age of 12 are required to complete a Criminal Record Check. Potential foster parents must complete a Children’s Services Intervention Record Check. Foster parents must also take an Emergency First Aid course and complete a medical with their physician. Finally, a safety inspection of the home will be done in order for the home to be licensed.
