Safe Passages Program
An extension to the Safe House and Safe House Outreach programs, Safe Passages provides independent, safe, and subsidized accommodations in designated apartments to “graduates” of either program. Clients tend to be young, single mothers who have a history of “at risk” behaviours including involvement in prostitution and are now transitioning into independence within the community. The outreach worker offers financial, emotional, community referral, and social support services.
Am I eligible?
You must be 18 years old and have had past involvement in prostitution.

How much will it cost me?
The clients in Safe Passages are responsible for their rent and utilities. As they acquire the means, clients will assume greater proportions of their rent and utility costs.
How do I access this program?
- Call for an intake appointment.
- The Outreach worker for Safe House will work with the client on handling their issues.
- After the client is stable, the Safe House Outreach worker then refers them to the Safe Passages program.

- Clients acquire safe and affordable housing.
- Clients enjoy a period of safety and stability in their lives.
- Clients acquire the appropriate support, skills, and resources.
- Clients are able to raise enough money for a damage deposit and a good reference for moving to a regular apartment.

Additional Information
Clients are in the Safe Passages program for approximately one year. After that, their files are closed and we continue to support them through after-care.
