Safe House

Safe House is a voluntary, temporary residential shelter for youth who are at risk of sexual exploitation or who are being sexually exploited through their involvement in prostitution. This program provides a safe refuge for a maximum of 8 individuals where they can access residential support and services to facilitate the transition to healthy community living.

While in the program, the youth’s needs are assessed and a service plan is developed to meet those needs. A client’s needs many include stabilization, day programming, substance abuse issues, general health conditions, level of family involvement, and future long term housing plans.

Staff at Safe House offer support, counseling, and advocacy, as well as facilitate the client’s access to community resources. Safe House also meets the basic needs for nutrition, housing, clothing, as well as structured and unstructured social, educational, and recreational activities.
