This is a full-time position for 37.5 hours per week.
You will be joining an established Agency that is guided by faith to care for and bring hope to people in need with humility, compassion and respect. With more than 50 years of service delivery, Catholic Social Services is one of the largest multi-function social services agencies in Canada, with more than 1600 staff, and 2000 volunteers delivering 130+ programs through Central and Northern Alberta.
As a facilitator in the Community and Intercultural Education Program, you are responsible for developing and delivering workshops whose goal is to increase the cultural competency of the participants. The range of workshops and workshop participants can be as diverse as newly arrived refugees or workshops delivered to established Canadians. You are knowledgeable about diversity-related issues as well as developments in the area of intercultural theory. You have experience collaborating with other agencies on local initiatives, connecting with other professionals, and reaching out to various community groups.
Your diploma/degree in adult education, intercultural studies or other equivalent as well as two years of experience in designing and delivering workshops for adults has prepared you for this challenging and rewarding position. Having worked in a multi-cultural environment previously, you demonstrate expertise in both intercultural theory and application. A vehicle and valid driver’s license are required for this rewarding opportunity.
