| |This is a part-time position for 32 hours per week.
As a mentor and role-model for youth who have been street-involved or sexually exploited and respect for the youth in care is evident in your work from start to finish. You will be joining an established Agency that is guided by faith to care for and bring hope to people in need with humility, compassion and respect. With more than 50 years of service delivery, Catholic Social Services/Catholic Charities is one of the largest multi-function social services agencies in Canada, with more than 1600 staff, delivering more than 130 programs throughout Central and Northern Alberta.
As a Child and Youth Care Support Worker for safe house program, you will be responsible for a variety of duties including:
• Your ability to multitask and work efficiently allows you to support youth, prepare them for the future and provide quality care in a comfortable environment.
• Ability to think creatively will support you in developing trusting relationships with youth experiencing mental health issues, addictions and/or high-risk life styles.
• Professionalism combined with solid judgment in the field of child and youth care will assist you in supporting our clients in gaining life skills and encouraging growth.
• An effective caregiver with strong written and verbal communication skills, your attention to detail and organizational skills allow you to write comprehensive reports in an effective and timely manner.
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent, combined with some related experience in the field of child and youth care support and will ensure your success in this role. You are both willing and able to perform light household chores. Experience working with high risk youth who have been sexually exploited is an asset. Experience working with high risk youth within a harm reduction model is an asset.
The salary range for this position is $17.56 to $19.76 per hour and is calculated based on qualifications. Catholic Social Services also offers an attractive and competitive overall compensation package for our valued staff.
